The Otipemisiwak Métis Government extends its congratulations to the Honourable Rebecca Alty on her appointment as Minister of Crown–Indigenous Relations, and Honourable Mandy Gull-Masty, the first Indigenous person be appointed as Minister of Indigenous Services.

The Otipemisiwak Métis Government is disappointed by the Federal Court’s April 29, 2025, decision on the class action by Sixties Scoop Survivors. While the ruling recognizes Canada owed a duty of care to Survivors taken through Saskatchewan’s Adopt Indian Métis (AIM) program, it leaves most others, including Métis Citizens in Alberta, without justice.
