To better understand how Citizens of the Otipemisiwak Métis Government have used and continue to use these places, our Environment and Climate Change Department has developed a Parks Canada Engagement Survey. Feedback on how you use National Parks and National Historic Sites will help the Otipemisiwak Métis Government work collaboratively with Parks Canada to fulfill the ecological and cultural priorities of Citizens regarding Parks Canada administered sites throughout the province.

The survey investigates Citizens’ historic, current, and future uses of Parks Canada administered sites in Alberta. Survey results are anonymous and will be used to provide feedback and suggestions to Parks Canada.

What We Have Accomplished

  • In December 2023, the Otipemisiwak Métis Government hired a Conservation Coordinator to lead Parks Canada-focused engagements and events.
  • The Otipemisiwak Métis Government is currently exploring other collaborative opportunities with Parks Canada to advance Métis Citizens’ access, involvement, and interests within Parks Canada administered places.
