A Pap smear test is a cervical cancer screening procedure. It is a swab of the cervix to check for abnormal cells. Between ages 25 and 69, you should have a Pap smear test every three years.

Please note:

A Pap smear test may be recommended at an earlier age if you have a family history of cancer or abnormalities are detected. Talk with your family doctor to determine what is right for you.

How to make an appointment for a Pap smear test:

A Pap smear test should be booked with your family doctor or at a women’s health clinic. It is important to discuss cervical cancer screening with your family doctor.
