Posted on: Feb 08, 2024
The Otipemisiwak Métis Government loves and supports our transgender and 2SLGBTQIA+ youth and community. As our government reviews the recently announced provincial policies and awaits additional details regarding their implementation, we will continue to offer safe and accessible support services to all Citizens. Please know that you are safe with us.
The following youth and 2SLGBTQIA+ resources are available to our Métis Citizens:
- Supports and Services Navigator: Be directed to various Métis Nation-affiliated programs, provincial and federal government supports, and community resources specific to your needs. Phone 780-455-2200 or email ssn@metis.org.
- Community Wellness Advocate: In partnership with 211 Alberta, the CWA can help Métis Albertans aged 16 and older in their mental wellness journey. To connect with the CWA, please email cwa@metis.org or call 780-940-4937.
- Wellness Program: Access up to 12 hours of FREE, professional, confidential, and culturally sensitive counselling. Sessions are held over the phone, video, or instant messaging and are available 24/7 in both French and English. Call 1-877-729-0261 or visit our Wellness Program page.
