Information Sharing Agreement

In order to create and advance relevant health programs and services for Métis Albertans and better advocate for our community’s health care needs, we need to first understand your health experiences.

In 2010 we made an agreement with Alberta Health to gain better insight into our community’s health experiences. This agreement provides us with the data needed to create our epidemiological reports so we can better advocate for necessary programs and services.

Through this agreement:

We reclaim governance and stewardship of Métis health data, including the collection, analysis, interpretation, and dissemination of all health-related data.
We investigate the health outcomes of Métis Albertans as distinct from other Indigenous groups in Canada.
We identify health trends among Métis Albertans based on your health priorities.
