The Métis Family Resource Adoptions Specialist can help by:

Assisting with Otipemisiwak Métis Government Citizenship applications for children or adults who have experienced adoption.
Facilitating access to original birth documents for minors, adults, or family members who have been adopted, for the purpose of registration.
Navigating the Records, Registry, and Connections (formerly the Alberta Post-Adoption Registry). As well as out-of-province post-adoption registries, to obtain original birth documents.
Offering support to those who have experienced adoptions on their journey of reconnection to identity and culture. Through culturally appropriate community-based referrals and programs offered to citizens of the Otipemisiwak Métis Government.
Offering culturally sensitive and trauma-informed support during the Citizenship application process.
