Otipemisiwak Métis Government Announces Resignation of Citizens’ Representative for Rocky View Métis District 4, and District Captain for Wabasca-Desmarais Métis District 22

The Chair of the Citizens’ Council has formally received and accepted the resignations of Lisa San Filippo, Citizens’ Representative for Rocky View Métis District 4, and Regan Auger, District Captain for Wabasca-Desmarais Métis District 22. As of this date, Ms. San Filippo and Mr. Auger are no longer serving in their respective roles.
Ms. San Filippo and Mr. Auger were elected as Citizens’ Representative and District Captain respectively in September 2023 and have faithfully represented their districts throughout their tenure.
“I want to express my gratitude to both Lisa and Regan for their service to our Nation,” said President Andrea Sandmaier. “They each brought their unique perspectives and sincere passion in representing the Citizens of their respective districts. I wish them both well in their future endeavours.”
“I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the citizens of the Rocky View Métis District for entrusting me with this responsibility, to my colleagues for the collaboration, learning opportunities and kinship we have shared and to our Elders for their gift of time and precious wisdom. I leave this position with hope for our Nation’s continued growth and with the utmost respect for the work that lies ahead,” Lisa San Filippo.
“It was an honour to be a part of the inauguration of the Otipemisiwak Métis Government,” said Regan Auger. “I extend my best wishes to the Wabasca-Desmarais District and the Otipemisiwak Métis Government as they move forward.”
In accordance with the Elections and Referenda Act, by-elections will be held, with the specific election dates to be determined by the Cabinet of the Otipemisiwak Métis Government. The Chief Electoral Officer will issue public notices of the by-elections at least 75 days prior to the start of voting which is anticipated in Spring of 2025.
