Alberta Métis Fest

On Saturday March 23rd The Métis Nation of Alberta is throwing a party near you! Bring your family and friends to Métis Fest from 9:30 am to 9:00 pm for a free province-wide showcase of Métis culture, talent, and history!
Come for the jigging and fiddling, stay for the stew and bannock. Share in the heritage and pride of the Métis people. Each region will have its own unique flavour and feel, but at each event you can expect:
- Jigging contest – Win up to $500 cash for 1st place, $250 for 2nd place, and $150 for 3rd place! Sign up with your regional office.
- Ages 0 – 6: $25 prize
- Age Categories:
- 7 – 12
- 13 – 17
- 18 – 59
- 60 +
- Showcases of Métis jigging and fiddling
- Stew and bannock for lunch and dinner
- Live music and a jam session
- Bring your instruments and get up on stage to perform for your family and friends!

Provincial
We’re excited to share some exciting events and performers scheduled for Alberta Métis Fest in Edmonton this Saturday!
- Métis story-teller Maureen Belanger will perform around 4:00 pm in the evening.
- Cultural Workshops for jigging, spoons, Cree lessons, and finger weaving will take place at 10:00 am.
- Cultural showcases on jigging and fiddling are happening around 11:00 am.
- Registration for the jigging contest will continue the day of. The competition will start at 12:00 pm. Call 780-455-2200 to register before the event.
- Vendors will be present at the event throughout the day.
Region 5

EVERYONE WELCOME!
- Jigging Showcase by the Edmonton Métis Dancers.
- 30 minute Jigging Lesson offered by Lyle Donald’s group.
- ‘Bad Timing’ is playing.
- 30 minute Fiddling Showcase featuring Dennis McLeod & Paul Beauregard.
- 50/50 Draw & Door Prizes.
- All singers welcome to join us for the Open Mic session.
