The cost of living has impacted many of our Citizens, including our harvesters. Approved Otipemisiwak Métis harvesters can apply for Harvester Relief Support (HRS) up to $200 to provide for their household during these difficult times—applications open Monday, March 17, 2025 at 11 a.m.
Eligibility:
- Otipemisiwak Métis Government-approved Harvester
- 16 years of age or older
- Proof of Alberta residency (driver’s license or provincial ID)
- Proof of purchase (receipt must be dated between August 1, 2024, and March 31, 2025. No exceptions)
The purpose of the Harvester Relief Support is to help Citizens with the incidental costs of ammunition, butchering, or equipment to process your own meat and more to relieve the high costs of providing food in your household.
Eligible Items
- Ammunition
- No lead shotgun shells, ammunition under .23 caliber, or reloading supplies
- Butchering of Wild Game
- Invoice must say wild game, cutting and wrapping only, and must have company letterhead
- Compound Bow and Arrow
- No practice arrows
- Crossbows and Arrows intended for hunting
- Deep Freeze
- No refrigerators with a freezer
- Fishing Gear (rod & reel/bait/tackle box)
- No fish finders, underwater cameras, salmon rods, fly rods
- Gill Net for fishing
- Ice Auger
- Ice Saw
- Jigger for net fishing
- Meat Grinder
- Meat Slicer
- Meat Smoker
- No BBQ-style smokers

- Please refrain from questions about eligibility for items not listed above. Only the listed items will be eligible for reimbursement.
- Do not apply for items not listed. Applications for items not listed will be automatically denied.
- Shipping costs are not eligible for reimbursement.
