Citizens' Spotlight: Lyric Jesso

The Otipemisiwak Métis Government congratulates Lyric Jesso on his appointment to the Métis National Council’s Youth Council.
Lyric was born and raised in Lac La Biche, Alberta. He is a dedicated front-line worker in firefighting, forestry, and emergency services whose experience on the front lines has shaped his powerful voice in conversations about the environment, climate change, and emergency management.
Active in volunteer work around his hometown of Lac La Biche, Alberta, Lyric is recognized as an insightful and dedicated representative of Metis youth in Alberta. A recent graduate from J.A Williams High School, he is currently training as an Emergency Medical Responder; He also hopes to pursue a career as a Conservation Biologist and Indigenous Environmental Policy Analyst continuing his commitment to protecting the land and uplifting future generations.
As a strong advocate for youth leadership, Lyric highlights the valuable perspectives young people bring and encourages greater youth involvement in community service. We look forward to having his voice on the MNC Youth Council.
