District Captain and District Council Elections

By Notice of the Chief Electoral Officer on this day, August 6, 2025; an Election of the Otipemisiwak Métis Government shall be held, with the final day of voting to be October 27, 2025.

District elections will run from October 20–27, 2025.

This October, the Otipemisiwak Métis Government will be holding the following District Captain Elections. District Captain elections will be held for Lac Ste. Anne Métis District, Fort McMurray Métis District, and Lesser Slave Lake Métis District. From October 20-27, 2025, eligible Métis Citizens will have the opportunity to vote by one of the following methods: IN-PERSON VOTING Polling stations will operate throughout Alberta from 8AM to 8PM during the voting period. Exact dates and addresses of polling locations are yet to be confirmed, and will be posted at MetisElectionsAB.com MAIL-IN VOTING A mail-in ballot will be sent to each Citizen who is eligible to vote. If you don’t receive a mail-in ballot, or need a replacement, visit MetisElectionsAB.com to request one. ELECTRONIC VOTING You can vote online at any time during the vote period. More details will follow about where and how to vote electronically.
