Youth & Seniors Gathering

Our Youth & Seniors Gathering is an annual event to connect generations of Métis people from across the province to build kinship and celebrate our culture. Kinship is the feeling of connection we create through shared culture, music, food, and most importantly, belonging.

Want to attend Youth & Seniors Gathering 2026? Registration will close Monday, January 19th at 4:30pm, or when capacity is reached.

This gathering provides an opportunity for Métis youth and seniors to gather and build intergenerational connections to Métis culture and community through participation in interactive workshops, sharing knowledge and stories, listening to inspiring speakers, and watching cultural performances.

The Youth and Seniors Gathering is free for Métis youth ages 12–29 and seniors 60+. Please note that registration is required to attend.

Youth & Seniors Gathering 2026

SAVE THE DATE for the 10th Annual Youth & Seniors Gathering!

Join us as we celebrate a decade of bringing Métis youth and seniors together! This special 10th anniversary gathering honours TEN years of intergenerational connection, cultural sharing, and community-building. Participants will engage in interactive workshops, hear inspiring speakers, share stories, and enjoy cultural performances that reflect the strength of our Métis traditions.

Event Details

DATES: February 27th -March 1st, 2026

LOCATION: DoubleTree by Hilton in West Edmonton, Alberta

Registration will open Wednesday, January 7th at 10 AM and close once capacity is reached! Limited spots!

Please be prepared to register EARLY!

Outstanding Youth & Senior Awards

Do you know a Métis YOUTH or SENIOR making a difference in your community? Nominate them for an OUTSTANDING Métis Youth and Senior Award! The Outstanding Youth and Senior Award will be awarded to the successful nominees at the Youth & Seniors Gathering!

Deadline to nominate is Friday, January 16, 2026.

Youth & Seniors Gathering Artist Market

We are looking for Métis artists for the Artist Market at our 10th annual Youth & Seniors Gathering!

Requirements:
– Must be Métis
– Must reside in Alberta
– Please include your Métis citizenship card, a short bio, and pictures of your work!
