All are welcome to join the MNA head office in celebrating Métis Week.
The following is a list of events the whole family can partake in!

November 12
High Level Bridge Lighting
To kick off the week, starting at sunset, the High Level Bridge will proudly boast blue and white lighting to commemorate Métis Week.
Constable Ezio Faraone Park is a great location to take in the view!

November 13
City Hall Proclamation
11 am – 1 pm
Together, the City of Edmonton and the Métis Nation of Alberta celebrate Métis Week at city hall.
11:15 – Opening Prayer and anthem
11:30 – Provincial and MNA president Audrey Poitras bring greetings
11:50 – Entertainment: Métis Sash Dance, Prince Charles Fiddlers, Highland Dance, Red River Jig
12:20 – Blessing of the food and lunch served

Seniors and Veterans Tea
10 am – 4 pm
Drop in throughout the day for stew, bannock, and a chat.

November 14
Free Flu Shots and Naloxone Training
9 am – 4 pm
Drop in throughout the day for your flu shot.
Naloxone training and kits also available throughout the day.

Royal Alberta Museum: Métis Exhibit
2 pm – 5 pm
2:00 pm – 2:45 – Light refreshments
3:00 – Museum curators will guide guest through the historic Métis exhibit.

November 15
Louis Riel Commemorative Walk
9:45 am – 1 pm
9:45 – Meet at St. Margaret’s Church to be shuttled to the starting point of the walk.

12:00 – Lunch at Deville Hall

November 16
Legislature Ceremony
11 am – 12 pm
Annually, on November 16th, Métis people across Alberta pay tribute to the Right Honourable Louis Riel.
This ceremony symbolizes the commitment Métis people share in promoting the visions and dreams of Louis Riel.

Open House: MNA and Affiliates
1 pm – 4 pm
Join in and learn about the Métis Nation of Alberta and its affiliates through this tradeshow style event.

Tickets are on a first come – first served basis and will be available for pick up after Friday November 9, 2018.

Family Day
12 pm – 4 pm
Fiddling lessons with Brianna Lizotte, jigging lessons, and finger weaving too!
Light refreshments will be served.

*Shuttle bus services will operate for the events happening in the downtown core of Edmonton. The bus will be departing from the Métis Nation of Alberta head office (11738 Kingsway Ave.) 30 minutes before the event start time. Please arrive 15 minutes before departure time. If you are bringing a vehicle, please park it in the back lot of the Edmonton Inn and wait in the front lobby of the Inn.
