Ivan Flett Memorial Dancers
Ivan Flett Memorial Dancers are three siblings from Winnipeg, Manitoba who share a passion for dance, not just any dance it’s all about the Red River Jig! Michael, Jacob and Cieanna perform traditional dances of the Red River Jig mixed with modern dancing known as the hip hop jig.
Formally known as the Slick and Lil J Show, back in 2012 they lost one of their biggest fans and proud supporter, Grandpa Ivan Flett passed away, it was with great sadness but an honour to rename themselves the Ivan Flett Memorial Dancers. Every dance they do is in honour of him.
Their main focus is to attract youth through the rhythm and style of the hip hop jig. They hope to motivate and inspire people of all ages, and bring awareness that their culture is going strong and continues to be ambitious with this dance and music.
The Wrigley Brothers
From Winnipeg Manitoba, The Wrigley Brothers are composed of identical 19-year-old Cree and French Metis twin musicians Luc and Aidan Wrigley. Their blend of traditional Metis fiddling, contemporary and classic Country and Folk music has been uplifting audiences across the Prairies to the Pacific and into the United States and Mexico. Luc and Aidan began fiddling at age three and by age six they performed at the Indigenous Peoples Music Awards. At age of seven they began regular performances at Festival du Voyageur, a gig they became crowd favorites at for years to come. By age 9 the duo recorded their first independent album “Keep Calm and Fiddle on” and a second full album entitled “Juniper Woods” when they were only 11. Luc and Aidan began to write songs when they were 16, both on guitars that their dad passed down to them. With an appreciation for artists like Passenger, Tyler Childs the twins have begun to venture into new and exciting territory. A third recording will be released in Summer of 2023.
JJ Lavallee
JJ Lavallee is a multi-nominated multi award winning Métis Musician. On top of being known for his fiddling across the Métis Nation, JJ is a soulful songwriter and singer and is currently in the process of releasing his 4th Album. With strong country roots JJ strives to keep the classic country in the mix.
