It was a cold November day when Louis Riel was executed for the crimes of high treason. He fought for the rights of the Métis people and paid the ultimate price for his efforts. We honour his legacy every year during Métis Week, and we start this week off by walking the 6km his family and loved ones walked to bring his body to Saint Boniface Cathedral in Manitoba.
Join us on November 10, at 9:30 a.m. for the Louis Riel Commemorative Walk to honour the courage and sacrifices of Louis Riel and his soldiers.
