Third Annual Calgary Métis Fest returns on Saturday, July 4, 2026

Posted on: May 20, 2026

Calgary, AB – The Calgary Nose Hill and Calgary Elbow Métis Districts are inviting families, friends, and the wider community to experience the rich heritage, traditions, and joyful spirit of Métis culture in Calgary by joining the third annual Calgary Métis Fest.  The festival will take place at The Confluence from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and is free and open to everyone.

Attendees can enjoy lively performances by Métis fiddlers and jiggers, along with Métis musicians sharing traditional and contemporary sounds.

The event will feature an array of artisans showcasing unique cultural items and crafts. Hands-on fun includes adult and kids Voyageur games with exciting prizes for participants, and an authentic trapper’s tent experience.

“We are excited to share Métis culture, stories, music, and traditions with Calgarians and visitors alike at the Third Annual Métis Stampede Festival,” said Calgary Elbow Métis District Captain, Carmen Lasanté and Citizens’ Representative Jason Chernow.  “It is important to bring community together through celebration, learning, and connection.”

Additional highlights include insightful Métis talks and Elder talks, delicious traditional food, and opportunities to connect with Métis history and community through cultural displays and activities.

“This festival is more than an event, it’s a celebration of our Métis identity, resilience, and contributions to Canadian culture,” said Calgary Nose Hill District Captain Kevin Metz and Citizens’ Representative Nelson Lussier. “Whether you’re Métis, a Calgarian, or visiting during Stampede season, everyone is welcome to join in the music, dance, games, and good food. Come create memories and learn about our vibrant traditions.”

Now in its third year, Calgary Métis Fest continues to grow as a welcoming space for all to experience the unique Métis way of life.
