Diabetes Project

Métis health and well-being are at the forefront of every initiative developed by our Health Department. Gathering information on the health of Métis Albertans is essential in creating and advancing relevant programs and services for our community.

Living with diabetes has its challenges and we want to learn more about how it impacts your life.

In collaboration with the University of Alberta, our Health Department is currently looking for information about living with diabetes, accessing diabetes care, and other experiences related to diabetes symptoms and treatment from Métis Albertans.

If you are Métis, living with type 1 or type 2 diabetes, and are 18 years or older, please share your experiences by completing the survey and taking part in one-on-one interviews.

Participate in both or choose just one!

Together, we can pave way to a healthier future for all.

This survey is designed to help us learn more about Métis Albertans’ experiences with diabetes. Topics include access to health services, diabetes self-management, and accessing diabetes care.

Fill it out for your chance to win 1 of 5 $100 pre-paid Visa cards!

Beyond the survey, interviews will dive deeper into what living with diabetes means for Métis Albertans and explore the impacts of Métis cultures and traditions on living with diabetes.

Interviews will be happening in the fall and participants will receive a $50 honorarium for their time and input.
