Métis Youth Culture Camp

Experience Métis traditions at the first ever Métis Nation of Alberta Youth Culture Camp July 15-21.

Learn important cultural teachings including hide tanning, beading, and finger weaving.
Campers will also learn how to live off the land, participate in a canoe expedition, and sleep in
traditional Métis trapper’s tents.

The event is free to attend. Participants must be Métis citizens between 13 and 17 years old. Very limited space available.

To apply, please submit a completed camper registration package to youth@metis.org by Friday, June 15, 2018.

We are also looking for Métis and non-Métis volunteer Camp Leaders who are 18+, to help ensure the safety of youth participants while assisting with event organization.

Applicants must provide a clean criminal record check and vulnerable sector check. Experience working with youth and First Aid training are assets. Volunteers must be available July 13-21, 2018. 

How to apply?

Download an application package and submit it by Friday, June 15, 2018 to youth@metis.org.

Signatures on application forms will only be required once campers and volunteers have been accepted to the camp.
