Region 1 successful in recovering Metco Ventures Inc and their Lac La Biche Regional Council Office building

On April 24th, 2009 BDO Canada Limited was appointed as Receiver of Metco Ventures Inc. by order of Justice Hillier on application of Métis Region #1. BDO Canada Limited was required to perform various investigative and review procedures of the financial affairs of Metco Ventures Inc. The review included specified Disbursements/Payments made to or on behalf of certain individuals.

The court granted an order transferring shares of Metco Ventures Inc. from the nominal owners, all of Lac La Biche, Alberta to Métis Region #1. Subsequently as beneficial owner, Métis Region #1 through its officials were instrumental in assisting BDO Canada Limited in gathering of relevant information and the meaningful analysis of that information.

A complete report of the findings of BDO Canada Limited is attached.
